Recently I was reading a forthcoming book by a progressive Christian author, who made this curious claim: “I’m focusing on the Bible not to show its superiority over other indigenous wisdom (which in itself would be a supremacist, colonial approach), but rather to situate it in the genre of indigenous wisdom, the tribal wisdom of the Hebrew people.”
